It is time for Secret Recipe Club again! This month, I was assigned Life on Food. In the Secret Recipe Club, each blogger is assigned a different blog each month. They secretly choose a recipe, prepare it, and post it on a designated day. It is such a fun group!

Emily is an Iowa native, but has lived in a few parts of the United States (and a semester in France-jealous!) before settling down in Connecticut and meeting her husband. She got married just 5 months after me and has turned her husband into a food snob too. Love it! I’m slowly working on doing the same with Chad. Emily has such a great selection of recipes to choose from, but I decided to try her Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt. I had not attempted frozen yogurt at home and this seemed like a great place to start. Other recipes now on my list are Lasagna with Sausage, S’mores Ice Cream, Orecchiette with Tomato Cream Sauce, Lamb Meatballs with Toasted Orzo, Cookie Dough S’mores and Olive Garden Chicken and Gnocchi Soup.

I only recently developed a taste for frozen yogurt. I still remember grabbing a couple of pints from Earth Fare while pregnant with Evan to help with my extreme ice cream cravings. After one bite, I immediately tossed them out. The tangy taste of the yogurt was just something I couldn’t get over, especially Greek yogurt. After Evan was born, I started to try it again when all of the frozen yogurt shops popped up in our area. Now, I love it.

This Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt is incredibly easy to make. It comes together in just minutes. You basically mix together an eggless chocolate chip cookie dough and fold in Vanilla Greek Yogurt. Transfer to a container and freeze overnight. No special equipment needed. I can’t wait to try more flavors.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt

Prep Time: 12 hours, 15 minutes

4 servings

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt


1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup all purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup mini chocolate chips

1 cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt

In a large bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract.

In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gently mix into the butter mixture. Fold in the chocolate chips, then the yogurt.

Place in freezer safe container and freeze overnight- 12 hours.
